Student of the Month

Emily Trotta, the student of the month, was given the award on March 1st. She was awarded in the announcements during her 1st period class and was given a certificate. She won this award by her hard work she put into her grades.
“ I felt proud to win this award, but I know it is just a small step into my learning career,” said Emily Trotta. Emily felt proud to win the award, but knew she still had to work hard.
“ This award was important to me, but I knew the award was just a label,” explained Trotta. The student of the month award is a prestigious award, and is very hard to win.
“I was surprised to win this award. I had to have a high GPA, great grades, and I had to have volunteer hours,” told Emily. Emily who is a junior has never won this award until now.
 “ Many of my friends have won this award over the past few years at Bowie, and it makes me want to win the award more,” said Trotta. The student of the month award is given to the best student and looks great on colleges.
“ When I won the award they put it on my school transcript and many colleges recognized my award,” Trotta said. Many colleges look for this award on transcripts.
“ I think this a great step in my high school career, here at Bowie,” Emily proclaimed. Emily feels that this award is a great success.
“ This award makes me want to work harder and be the best I can,” Emily said. This award helps Emily get closer to her dream college.
“ I plan on going to an Ivy League school on the coast, and getting a masters degree in law,” Explained Emily. To win this award you have to have many volunteer hours. “ I volunteer with National Art Society, Key Club, and Harry Potter Club. In these clubs I feed the homeless and I run marathons for fundraising, and I help kids,” Emily always has her hands full helping the community, and her teachers feel she is a great role model.
 “ My teachers think I am outgoing, hardworking, loud, and I always participate,” explained Trotta. Emily knows that winning the award is hard work.

“ I had to compete with the other candidates to win this award. This candidates were Jackson Cobb, Amanda Stewart, and myself,” she said. Student of the month is an award to cherish. “ Achieve excellence, help others, and pursue your goals,” Trotta said.
